The Prophet ﷺ said, "The son of Adam is surrounded by ninety-nine causes of death. If these causes of death miss him, he falls into old age until he dies."
عن النبي ﷺ: مثل ابن آدم، وإلى جنبه تسع وتسعون منية إن أخطأته المنايا وقع في الهرم حتى يموت.
Tirmidhi (2150, 2456) and Tabarani in al-Awsat (5662) both narrated it through Salm bin Qutayba, who said, Abu Awwam, who is Imran Qattan, told us, from Qatada, from Mutarrif bin Abdullah bin Shikhir, from his father, and he related it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith, we do not know it except from this route."I say, it is as he said. Imran is Ibn Dawar Qattan, who is disputed, but his hadith is hasan as long as it does not contain something objectionable.
