Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat - Majma Bahrayn (5125) from Ahmad bin Amr Qitrani, who said, Abu Rabi Zahrani related to us, who said, Abdullah bin Mubarak related to us, who said, Abu Salama related to us, from Qatada, from Abu Burda, from Abu Musa Ashari, and he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Abu Salama, who is Muhammad bin Abu Hafsa, for he is hasan al-hadith, and he is among the men of Sahih [Bukhari and Muslim]. Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/325), "Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat, and its men are the men of Sahih." And it is as he said.Abu Dawud related it (4033) through the route of Qatada, from Abu Burda, from Abu Musa, with the same wording, but limiting it to his saying, "Indeed our smell is the smell of sheep." It is mentioned in the book of clothing.
