I asked the Prophet ﷺ about eating with a menstruating woman, and he said, "Eat with her."
سألت النبي ﷺ عن مؤاكلة الحائض فقال: واكلها.
Reported by Abu Dawud (212), Tirmidhi (133), and Ibn Majah (651), all of them through the hadith of Ala bin Harith, from Haram bin Hakeem, from his uncle Abdullah bin Saad, who narrated the hadith. This is the wording of Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. Tirmidhi said, hasan gharib.As for Abu Dawud, it reads, from his uncle, that he asked the Messenger of Allahﷺ, "What is permissible for me from my wife while she is menstruating?" He said, "What is above the waist wrap." He also mentioned eating together with a menstruating woman, and then related the hadith. End of quote.Its chain is hasan, on account of Haram bin Hakeem, for Ajli and Daraqutni deemed him trustworthy, while others deemed him daif, but he does not fall below the rank of "truthful" nor does he rise above it.
