By the One in whose hand my soul rests, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and his family never ate their fill of wheat bread for three consecutive days until he departed this world.
والذي نفسي بيده ما شبع نبي الله ﷺ وأهله ثلاثة أيام تباعا من خبز حنطة حتى فارق الدنيا.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Foods (5374), and Muslim in the Book of Asceticism and Softening of Hearts (2976), both from the route of Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurairah, who narrated it. The wording given is Muslim's.
