We came upon a man from the desert people and asked, "Have you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "Yes, I heard him say, 'You will not leave anything for the sake of Allah without Allah replacing it for you with something better.'"
أتينا على رجل من أهل البادية فقلنا: هل سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ شيئا؟ قال: نعم، سمعته يقول: إنك لن تدع شيئا لله، إلا بدلك الله به ما هو خير لك منه.
Waki bin Jarra narrated it in Zuhd (356), and from him Ahmad (23074), and Hannad bin Sari in Zuhd (938), from Sulayman bin Mughira, from Humayd bin Hilal Adawi, from Abu Qatada and Abu Dahma, who said, and they mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.
