The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on the day of the expedition of Tabuk. He was informed that the water at a certain spring was scarce, so he ordered a caller to announce to the people that no one should reach the water before him. When he arrived at the water, he found that a group had already gotten there before him, so he cursed them.
Ahmad (23395) narrated it from Abu Naeem, [who said], Walid, meaning Ibn Jami, narrated to us, Abu Tufayl narrated to us, from Huzaifa, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Walid bin Abdullah bin Jami, for his hadith is hasan. Abu Naeem, Ahmad's shaykh, placed it among the narrations of Huzaifa.
