The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is not fitting for a two-faced person to be trustworthy."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: ما ينبغي لذي الوجهين أن يكون أمينا.
Ahmad (8781), Kharaiti in Masawi al-Akhlaq (291), and Bayhaqi in Sunan (10/246) all narrated it through the route of Abu Salama Khuzai, who said, Sulayman bin Bilal informed us, from Muhammad bin Ajlan, from Ubaydullah bin Salman Aghar, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ajlan, for his hadith is hasan, and he has been corroborated. Ibn Abu Dunya narrated it in Samt (283) through the route of Sulayman bin Bilal, from Kathir bin Zayd, from Walid bin Rabah, from Abu Hurairah, and he added at the end of the hadith, "with Allah." Kathir bin Zayd Aslami Madani is disputed, though his hadith is hasan when he does not err.Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad (313) without mentioning anyone between Sulayman bin Bilal and Ubaydullah bin Salman.
