The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Most of the hypocrites of my nation are its reciters."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أكثر منافقي أمتي قراؤها.
Ahmad (6637), Bukhari in Tarikh al-Kabir (1/257), and Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (39) all narrated it through the route of Abdullah bin Mubarak, from Abdul-Rahman bin Shurayh Maafiri, who said, Shurahbil bin Yazid narrated to me, from Muhammad bin Hudayyah, from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, and he related it.Bukhari also narrated it in Afaal Ibad (613) through another route from Maafiri, with his chain, in similar wording.Its chain of transmission is hasan, on account of Shurahbil bin Yazid, for his hadith is hasan.
