The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I fear nothing for my community except three things: stinginess that is obeyed, desire that is followed, and a misguided leader."

Ibn Qani reported it in Mujam Sahabah (206/2), and Abu Naeem in Marifat Sahabah (4/2018), both through the route of Abu Abdul-Rahman Muqri, from Ibn Lahia, who said, Ibn Hubayra narrated to me, from Amr Bakali, from Abu Awar, who said, then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Lahia, for he has been criticized, except that the narration of Abadila from him is hasan, and this narration is one of them, since Abu Abdul-Rahman Muqri's name is Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, as it has also been corroborated. Bazzar reported it, Kashf Astar (1602), through the route of Abu Aswad, from Ibn Lahia, with the same wording.Abu Awar's name is Amr bin Sufyan bin Abd Shams Sulami, known by his kunya. There is disagreement about his companionship. Muslim, Ibn Main, and Abu Ahmad Hakim said he had companionship, and Baghawi, Ibn Qani, Ibn Manda, and Abu Naeem listed him among the Companions. Others denied it, among them Abu Hatim, Abu Ahmad Askari, Ibn Hibban, and Ibn Abdul-Barr.I say, the one who affirms takes precedence over the one who denies, and this is what Ibn Hajar relied upon, mentioning him in the first section of Isabah (5855).
