Abu Dawud (4090) and Ibn Hibban (5671) reported it through Hammad bin Salama, and Ahmad (8894) reported it through Sufyan (that is, Ibn Uyayna), both of them from Ata bin Saaib, from Salman Aghar, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and he mentioned it.Its chain is sahih. Ata bin Saaib is trustworthy, the leading scholars declared him trustworthy, but he became confused in memory toward the end of his life. However, the narrations of Hammad bin Salama and Ibn Uyayna from him were before his confusion set in.Ibn Majah (4175) reported it through Abdul-Rahman Muharibi, and Ibn Hibban (5672) reported it through Muhammad bin Fudayl, both of them from Ata bin Saaib, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said, and he mentioned it.It is not known whether Abdul-Rahman Muharibi narrated from Ata before or after his confusion, while Muhammad bin Fudayl narrated from him after his confusion. So it appears that the hadith belongs to the musnad of Abu Hurairah, as narrated by Sufyan, Hammad, and others.
