Anas bin Malik reported,

The Arabs used to serve one another during their journeys. A man traveling with Abu Bakr and Umar was attending to them, but he fell asleep and woke up without having prepared their food. One of them remarked, "This man certainly sleeps a great deal among you." They woke him and said, "Go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and tell him that Abu Bakr and Umar send you their greetings and are asking him for something to eat with their bread."The man went to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Tell them they have already had something with their bread."Alarmed, the two of them came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we sent asking you for something to eat with our bread, and you said we have already had something. With what did we have it?"He replied, "By eating your brother's flesh. I can see his flesh between your teeth."They said, "Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for us."He said, "Let him ask forgiveness for you."

عن أنس قال

كانت العرب تخدم بعضها بعضا في الأسفار، وكان مع أبي بكر وعمر رجل يخدمهما فنام، فاستيقظا ولم يهيئ طعاما، فقال: إن هذا لنؤوم بينكم، فأيقظاه فقالا: انت رسول الله ﷺ فقل له: إن أبا بكر وعمر يقرئانك السلام، وهما يستأدمانك، فأتاه فقال: أخبر هما أنهما قد ائتدما ففزعا، فجاءا إلى النبي ﷺ، فقالا: يا رسول الله، بعثنا نستأدمك، فقلت: ائتدما فبأي شيء ائتدمنا؟ فقال: بأكلكما لحم أخيكما، إني لأرى لحمه بين ثناياكم فقالا: يا رسول الله، فاستغفر لنا، قال: هو فليستغفر لكما.
