The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no evil omen, but if it affects anyone, it affects only the one who believes in it. If it were to be found in anything, it would be in a house, a horse, or a woman."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا طيرة، والطيرة على من تطير، وإن تك في شيء ففي الدار والفرس والمرأة.
Tahawi narrated it in Sharh Maani (4/314), Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6123), and Diya narrated it in Mukhtarah (2269), all of them through routes from Malik bin Ismail, who said, Zuhayr bin Muawiya narrated to us, from Utba bin Humayd, who said, Ubaydullah bin Abu Bakr narrated to me that he heard Anas bin Malik say, then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Utba bin Humayd, for he is disputed, but he is hasan al-hadith when he does not err and nothing objectionable appears in his hadith.
