We marched with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition of Batn Buwat, while he was searching for Majdi bin Amr al-Juhani. The water-carrying camel was being shared among five, six, or seven of us, each taking turns to ride it.The turn of one of the Ansar came to ride his camel. He made it kneel and mounted it, then urged it on, but it was a bit slow to respond. So he said to it, "Move on, may Allah curse you."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Who is this cursing his camel?"The man replied, "It is I, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Get down from it. Do not accompany us with something cursed. Do not invoke curses against yourselves, nor against your children, nor against your wealth. You may strike upon an hour with Allah in which gifts are being granted, and your prayer would be answered against you."
