The Prophet ﷺ ruled that the owner of the riding animal has the greater right to its front.
قضى النبي ﷺ أن صاحب الدابة أحق بصدرها.
Ahmad narrated it (119) from Hakam bin Nafi, who said, Ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Abu Saba Utba bin Tamim, from Walid bin Amir Yazani, from Urwa bin Mughith Ansari, from Umar bin Khattab, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Ismail bin Ayyash, and his teacher and his teacher's teacher, for all of them are hasan al-hadith, except for Urwa bin Mughith, who is among the men discussed in al-Tajil, concerning whom there is disagreement. Ibn Abu Khaythama listed him among the companions, while Bukhari placed him among the successors.Haythami said in al-Majma (8/107), "Its men are trustworthy."
