Ayesha was informed that Abdullah bin Amr was instructing women that when they performed the ritual bath, they should undo the braids of their hair. She said, "How astonishing of Ibn Amr! He orders women, when they bathe, to undo their hair. Why does he not order them to shave their heads as well? I used to bathe with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from a single vessel, and I would do no more than pour water over my head three times."
بلغ عائشة أن عبد الله بن عمرو يأمر النساء إذا اعتسلن أن ينقضن رؤوسهن، فقالت: يا عجبا لابن عمرو هذا! يأمر النساء إذا اغتسلن أن ينقضن رؤوسهن، أفلا يأمرهن أن يحلقن رؤوسهن؟ لقد كنت أغتسل أنا ورسول الله ﷺ من إناء واحد، ولا أزيد على أن أفرغ على رأسي ثلاث إفراغات.
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on menstruation (331) via Ismail bin Ulaya, from Ayub, from Abu Zubayr, from Ubayd bin Umayr, who mentioned the same.
