His uncle reported that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying on his back in the mosque, with one leg resting over the other.Saeed bin Musayab said, "Umar and Uthman used to do the same."
عن عمه، أنه رأى رسول الله ﷺ مستلقيا في المسجد، واضعا إحدى رجليه على الأخرى. قال سعيد بن المسيب: كان عمر وعثمان يفعلان ذلك.
Malik narrated it in "Shortening the Prayer While Traveling" (93, 94) from Ibn Shihab, from Abbad bin Tamim, from his uncle, and he mentioned the raised hadith (marfu). Uqbah narrated it from Ibn Shihab, from Saeed bin Musayab, and he mentioned the practice of Umar and Uthman.Bukhari narrated it in "The Prayer" (475), and Muslim in "Clothing and Adornment" (2100:75), both of them through Malik with the same wording, except that Muslim did not mention the statement of Ibn Musayab.
