He came to the Prophet ﷺ and accepted Islam on the condition that he would only perform two prayers, and the Prophet ﷺ accepted that from him.
أنه أتى النبي ﷺ فأسلم على أنه لا يصلي إلا صلاتين، فقبل ذلك منه.
It was narrated by Ahmad (20287), (23079), and Ibn Abu Shayba in his Musnad (995), both through Shuba, from Qatada, from Nasr bin Aasim Al-Laythi, as he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it contains an instance of winning over the hearts of new Muslims, and shows that they are not to be burdened, at the start of their Islam, with more than they can bear.
