A man asked, "How much water should I pour over my head when I am in a state of major ritual impurity?"He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to scoop three handfuls of water onto his head."The man said, "But my hair is long."He answered, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had more hair than you, and finer."
كم أفيض على رأسي وأنا جنب؟ قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ يحثو على رأسه ثلاث حثيات، قال الرجل: إن شعري طويل، قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ أكثر شعرا منك وأطيب.
Ibn Majah (578) reported it, he said, Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba told us, Abu Khalid Ahmar told us, from Ibn Ajlan, from Saeed bin Abu Saeed, from Abu Hurairah, and he related the hadith. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Khalid Ahmar, who is Sulayman bin Hayan Kufi, and his teacher Muhammad bin Ajlan Madani, and both of them are hasan in narration.
