The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibreel and says, 'I love so-and-so, so love him.' Jibreel then loves him. Jibreel then calls out to the heavens, saying, 'Allah loves so-and-so, so love him,' and the inhabitants of the heavens love him. Then acceptance is placed for him on earth. And when He despises a servant, He calls Jibreel and says, 'I despise so-and-so, so despise him.' Jibreel then despises him. Jibreel then calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens, 'Allah despises so-and-so, so despise him,' and they despise him. Then hatred for him is placed on earth."
Muslim narrated it in The Book of Righteousness and Ties of Kinship (2637:157), from Zuhayr bin Harb, who said, Jareer narrated to us, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in The Book of Monotheism (7485), through the route of Abdullah bin Dinar, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, with the same wording, except that he confined it to the part about love.
