The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had I known at the start of this affair what I came to know later, I would not have brought the sacrificial animals with me, and I would have exited the state of ihram along with the people when they did."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لو استقبلت من أمري ما استدبرت ما سقت الهدي، ولحللت مع الناس حين حلوا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Wishing (7229) from Yahya bin Bukayr, who said, Layth narrated to us, from Aqeel, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Urwa narrated to me that Ayesha mentioned it. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Hajj (1211: 130) through the route of Zakwan, the freed slave of Ayesha, from Ayesha, similarly, at the end of a long hadith.
