Ali bin Abu Talib came out from the presence of the Prophet ﷺ during the illness in which he passed away. The people asked, "Abu Hasan, how is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ this morning?"He replied, "By the praise of Allah, he has recovered."
أن علي بن أبي طالب خرج من عند النبي ﷺ في وجعه الذي توفي فيه، فقال الناس: يا أبا حسن، كيف أصبح رسول الله ﷺ؟ قال: أصبح بحمد الله بارئا.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Seeking Permission (6266), through several routes from Zuhri, who said, "Abdullah bin Kaab bin Malik informed me that Abdullah bin Abbas told him," and he related it. It is mentioned in full in the account of the Prophet's illness ﷺ.
