I asked Ayesha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ allow poetry to be recited in his presence?"She replied, "It was the most disliked form of speech to him."
سألت عائشة هل كان رسول الله ﷺ يتسامع عنده الشعر؟ قالت: كان أبغض الحديث إليه.
Ahmad (25020, 25150) and Ishaq bin Rahawayh (1687) both narrated it through Aswad bin Shayban, who said, "Abu Nawfal bin Abu Iqrab narrated to us," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Haythami said in Majma (8/119), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."
