The Prophet ﷺ said, "Religion is sincere counsel."We asked, "To whom?"He replied, "To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the leaders of the Muslims, and to the Muslims in general."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: الدين النصيحة قلنا: لمن؟ قال: لله، ولكتابه، ولرسوله، ولأئمة المسلمين، وعامتهم.
Muslim narrated it in the book of Iman (55), from Muhammad bin Abbad Makki, who said, Sufyan (that is, Ibn Uyayna) narrated to us, he said, I said to Suhayl, "Amr (meaning Ibn Dinar) narrated to us from Qaqa, from your father." I had hoped this would spare me one man in the chain.He said, He said, "I heard it from the very man my father heard it from, he was a friend of his in Syria." Then Sufyan narrated to us, from Suhayl, from Ata bin Yazid, from Tamim Dari, and he related it.
