Tabarani narrated it in Mujam al-Kabir (12/163) from Muhammad bin Abdullah Hadrami, who said, Muhammad bin Jabir Muharibi narrated to us, who said, Yahya bin Yaala bin Harith narrated to us, from his father, from Bakr bin Waail, from Ismail bin Muslim, from Abu Raja, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Ismail bin Muslim Makki is daif, and the rest of his narrators are trustworthy (thiqah) and truthful (saduq). Abu Raja is al-Utaridi, whose name is Imran bin Milhan, and he is a trustworthy (thiqah) mukhadram.However, the hadith has another chain, also narrated by Tabarani (12/73), through Ismail bin Musa Suddi, who said, Ali bin Mushir narrated to us, from Ashath bin Sawwar, from Abu Zubayr, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it. In it is Ashath bin Sawwar, who is daif, and the rest of his narrators are trustworthy (thiqat), except Ismail bin Musa Suddi, who is truthful (saduq) but makes mistakes, as stated in Taqrib. In sum, the hadith is hasan when the two chains are combined.Haythami said in Majma al-Zawaid (8/48), "Tabarani narrated it with two chains, and the narrators of one of them are trustworthy (thiqat)." So he said, but we have already come to know the status of both of them.
