Abu Dawud (4163) and Bayhaqi in Shuab (6455) and in Adab (695) both narrated it through the route of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad, from Suhayl bin Abu Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurairah who said, and then he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad, for his hadith is hasan. Ibn Hajar also graded it hasan in Fath al-Bari (10/368).His saying, "let him honor it," means he should groom it, comb it, and oil it. On this subject there is also a report from Ayesha that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you has hair, let him honor it." Tahawi narrated it in Sharh Mushkil Athar (3360) through the route of Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Umara bin Ghaziya, from Qasim bin Muhammad, from Ayesha, who related it.Muhammad bin Ishaq is a mudallis, and he narrated this with an ambiguous form of transmission. However, Ibn Hajar graded its chain hasan in Fath al-Bari (10/368).
