Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (1929) from Muhammad bin Amir bin Ibrahim, who said, my father narrated to us, who said, Mubarak bin Fadala narrated to us, from Ubaydullah bin Umar, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Mubarak bin Fadala, for there is disagreement about him, and he used to practice tadlis of the leveling type, though there is no harm in using him for supporting evidence.Bazzar said, "We do not know of anyone who narrated it from Ubaydullah except Mubarak, nor from him except Amir, nor do we know of it from Ibn Umar except by this route."Haythami said in Majma (8/176), "Its narrators are trustworthy."I say, Mubarak bin Fadala is among those disputed. Ibn Main said, "There is no harm in him," meaning his hadith is considered hasan when his hadith has a basis, otherwise he is a mudallis who practices tadlis and levels the chain. Abu Zura said, "He practices tadlis frequently, but when he says 'so-and-so narrated to us,' then he is trustworthy."
