The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who drinks from a silver vessel is only pouring the fire of Hell into his belly."In another narration, "Whoever drinks from a vessel of gold or silver is only pouring into his belly a fire from Hell."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: الذي يشرب في آنية الفضة إنما يجرجر في بطنه نار جهنم. وفي رواية: من شرب في إناء من ذهب أو فضة فإنما يجرجر في بطنه نارا من جهنم.
Malik narrated it in the chapter on the description of the Prophet ﷺ (11), from Nafi, from Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab, from Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr Siddiq, from Umm Salama, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on drinks (5634), and Muslim in the chapter on clothing and adornment (2065), both through the route of Malik with the same wording. The second wording was narrated by Muslim through another route from Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman with it. His saying, "gurgles," means it makes a sound. Al-jarjarah is the sound of water falling into the belly. What is meant here is as if he is pouring fire into his stomach and making it sound within him.
