Tabarani related it in al-Awsat, Majma Bahrayn (4131), and Abu Naeem in Hilyat Awliya (9/38), both by way of Abdullah bin Mubarak, from Mamar, from Jafar bin Barqan, from Yazid bin Asam, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he narrated it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Jafar bin Barqan Raqqi, for he is hasan al-hadith. Haythami said in al-Majma (5/78), "Tabarani related it in al-Awsat, and its narrators are trustworthy, being the narrators of the sahih."Abu Dawud (3722), Ahmad (11760), and Ibn Hibban (5315) all related it by way of Abdullah bin Wahb, who said, Qurra bin Abdul-Rahman informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utba, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking from the cracked part of the cup, and forbade blowing into a drink.Qurra bin Abdul-Rahman Maafiri was declared daif by Ibn Main, Abu Zura, Abu Hatim, and Nasai.
