The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you drinks, he should not breathe into the vessel. If he wishes to drink again, let him move the vessel away, then return to it if he wants more."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إذا شرب أحدكم فلا يتنفس في الإناء، فإذا أراد أن يعود، فلينح الإناء، ثم ليعد إن كان يريد.
Ibn Majah (3427) narrated it from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, and it is also found in his Musannaf (8/217) in the Dar Salafiyya edition, though it is missing from Muhammad Awwama's edition, and Abu Yaala (6677), and Hakim (4/139), all of them through various routes from Harith bin Abu Dhubab, from his uncle, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Saad bin Abu Dhubab, for he is hasan al-hadith. His uncle is Iyad bin Abdullah bin Saad bin Abu Dhubab, whom Ibn Manda mentioned among the companions, and Ibn Hajar relied on this, mentioning him in the first section of al-Isaba (7/579).
