Anas said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to breathe three times while drinking, saying, 'It is more quenching, more wholesome, and easier to digest.'"Anas added, "So I too breathe three times while drinking."
كان رسول الله ﷺ يتنفس في الشراب ثلاثا، ويقول: إنه أروى، وأبرأ، وأمرأ قال أنس: فأنا أتنفس في الشراب ثلاثا.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (2028:123) via Abdul-Warith bin Saeed, from Abu Isam, from Anas, as mentioned.His words, "more thirst-quenching," mean fuller in quenching thirst. His words, "more wholesome," mean freer from sickness and harm. His words, "more agreeable," mean more pleasant to swallow.
