Anas reported that the Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking while standing.
ى أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن الشرب قائما.
Tirmidhi (1881) narrated it from Humayd bin Masada, who said, Khalid bin Harith narrated to us, from Saeed, from Qatada, from Abu Muslim, from Jarud bin Mualla, who said, then he mentioned the hadith. Its isnad is hasan because of Abu Muslim Judhami, for a group of narrators reported from him, and Ajli and Ibn Hibban deemed him trustworthy.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith." Then he pointed out a defect in it, saying, "This is how more than one narrator has related this hadith, from Saeed, from Qatada, from Abu Muslim, from Jarud, from the Prophet ﷺ. It has also been narrated from Qatada, from Yazid bin Abdullah bin Shikhir, from Abu Muslim, from Jarud, that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'A Muslim's lost property is the burning of the Fire.'" End of quote.I say, Qatada narrated extensively, and he also narrated it from Abu Isa Aswari, from Abu Saeed Khudri, as found in Sahih Muslim, which was mentioned earlier. So there is nothing to prevent him from having two hadiths from Jarud, one concerning the prohibition against drinking while standing, and the second being, "A Muslim's lost property is the burning of the Fire." This was mentioned previously in the book of jihad and military campaigns.
