The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Food enough for two is enough for three, and food enough for three is enough for four."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: طعام الاثنين كافي الثلاثة، وطعام الثلاثة كافي الأربعة.
Malik narrated it in the Description of the Prophet ﷺ (20) from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it as mentioned. Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Foods (5392), and Muslim in the Book of Drinks (2058), both of them by way of Malik with the same wording.
