The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not permissible for a man to separate two people from each other except with their permission."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا يحل لرجل أن يفرق بين اثنين إلا بإذنهما.
It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4845), Tirmidhi (2752), and Ahmad (6999), all of them through the route of Usama bin Zayd, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from Abdullah bin Amr, who said, then he narrated it. Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi also graded it hasan, saying, "This is a hasan hadith."Bayhaqi narrated it in al-Kubra (3/232) through the route of Amir al-Ahwal, from Amr bin Shuayb, with the wording, "He forbade a man from sitting between two men except with their permission."
