When Jafar returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the land of Abyssinia, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed him between the eyes and then said, "I do not know which delights me more, the arrival of Jafar or the conquest of Khaybar."
لما قدم جعفر على رسول الله ﷺ من أرض الحبشة قبل رسول الله ﷺ ما بين عينيه، ثم قال: ما أدري أنا بقدوم جعفر أسر أو بفتح خيبر.

Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Al-Ahad wal-Mathani (364), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (22/100), both from the hadith of Makhlad bin Yazid, who said, Masaar narrated to us, from Awn bin Abu Juhayfa, from his father, who said, and then he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Makhlad bin Yazid, for he is hasan al-hadith.It is strengthened by what Abu Dawud (5220) narrated from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, from Ali bin Mushir, from Ajlah, from Shaybi, transmitting it in mursal form. Ajlah is Ibn Abdullah bin Hujayya Kindi, about whom there is disagreement, and most scholars of knowledge lean toward declaring him daif. However, Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy, and Ibn Adi said, "His hadith is sound, he is truthful." Yaqub bin Sufyan Fasawi said, "He is trustworthy, though his hadith is somewhat weak."
