Its chain of transmission includes Abu Hisham al-Rifai, that is, Muhammad bin Yazid bin Muhammad bin Kathir bin Rifa, Ajli, Kufi, about whom there is disagreement. Most scholars of knowledge declared him daif, while Ibn Main, Daraqutni, and others regarded him favorably.Hafiz said in Fath al-Bari (57/11), "His chain is strong." I say, he is corroborated by Abu Saeed Harithi, as found in Ibn Arabi's Mujam (2047), who is among the men mentioned in Lisan Mizan, and there is no harm in him as a corroborating narrator. He said, Usama bin Sharik said,"I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while his companions were with him, so still it was as though birds were perched on their heads. Then the Bedouins came and questioned the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and afterward the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke, and the people rose and began kissing his hand. I took his hand and placed it on my face, and I found it sweeter than the scent of musk and cooler than snow."
