Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sought permission to enter the home of Saad bin Ubada, saying, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah."Saad replied, "And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah," but he did not let the Prophet ﷺ hear him. The Prophet ﷺ gave the greeting three times, and Saad returned the greeting three times, yet without letting him hear it. So the Prophet ﷺ turned to leave, and Saad followed after him and said, "Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransomed for you, you did not give a single greeting except that it reached my ears, and I returned the greeting to you without letting you hear me, because I wanted to receive more of your greeting and its blessing."Then he brought him into the house and offered him raisins, and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ate. When he had finished, he said, "May the righteous eat your food, may the angels send blessings upon you, and may those who fast break their fast with you."
