A man reported,

I set out from my family heading to the Prophet ﷺ, and there I found him standing with a man who was facing him in conversation. I thought the two of them had some matter to attend to.The Ansari said, "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for so long that I began to feel sorry for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ because of how long he was standing. When he finished, I said, 'Messenger of Allah, that man stood with you so long that I began to feel sorry for you because of the length of his standing.'"The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Did you see him?"I replied, "Yes."He asked, "Do you know who he was?"I said, "No."He said, "That was Jibreel عليه السلام. He kept urging me concerning the neighbor until I thought he would make him an heir. Indeed, had you greeted him with peace, he would have returned the greeting to you."
