The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no pact of alliance in Islam, but any pact made during the days of ignorance, Islam only strengthened it. It would not please me to possess red camels in exchange for breaking the pact that was made in Dar al-Nadwah."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا حلف في الإسلام، وكل حلف كان في الجاهلية فلم يزده الإسلام إلا شدة، وما يسرني أن لي حمر النعم، وأنى نقضت الحلف الذي كان في دار الندوة.
Ibn Jareer Tabari narrated it in his Tafsir (6/683) from Abu Kurayb, who said, Musab bin Miqdam narrated to us, from Israil bin Yunus, from Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman, the freed slave of the family of Talha, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, then he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Musab bin Miqdam, for there is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan.Ahmad (2909) and Abu Yaala (2336) narrated it, and from him Ibn Hibban (4370), and Tabarani (11/281-282), and Tabari in his Tafsir (6/683), all of them by way of Sharik, from Simak, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, then he mentioned it.Haythami said in al-Majma, "Abu Yaala and Ahmad narrated it, and their men are the men of sahih."I say, it is as he said, but it contains Sharik, who is Ibn Abdullah Nakhai, the judge of Kufa, Abu Abdullah, who was poor in memory. And Simak is Ibn Harb bin Aws, who was truthful, but his narration from Ikrima in particular is inconsistent, and his memory deteriorated toward the end of his life, so he would sometimes accept prompting, but apart from Ikrima there is no harm in him, and he has been corroborated in the first isnad.
