A woman came to me with her two daughters, asking for charity. I had nothing with me except a single date, so I gave it to her. She divided it between her two daughters and ate none of it herself. Then she got up and left. The Prophet ﷺ came in afterward, and I told him what had happened. He said, "Whoever is tested with anything from these daughters and treats them well, they will be a shield for him from the Fire."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Zakat (1418), and Muslim in the Book of Righteousness and Kinship Ties (2629), both through Zuhri, who said, Abdullah bin Abu Bakr bin Hazm told me, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and he related it.
