The Prophet ﷺ said, "No two men love one another for the sake of Allah without the better of them being the one whose love for his companion is stronger."

Narrated by Ibn Jad (3192), Tayalisi (2166), Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (544), Abu Yaala (3419), and Ibn Hibban (566), all through various routes from Mubarak bin Fadala, who said, our teacher Thabit narrated to us, from Anas bin Malik, who said, and then he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Mubarak bin Fadala, for his hadith is hasan when he states his source explicitly, and this is one such instance. Haythami said in Majma (10/276), "Abu Yaala, Bazzar, and Tabarani in Awsat narrated it, and the narrators of Abu Yaala and Bazzar are the narrators of sahih hadith, except for Mubarak bin Fadala, whom more than one scholar deemed reliable despite some weakness in him."I say, the criticism of him stems from his practice of tadlis, but he has explicitly stated his source in the versions of Bukhari and Ibn Hibban, so his tadlis is no longer an issue here.
