The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When I was taken up on the night journey, I passed by a people who had nails of copper with which they were scratching their faces and chests. I asked, 'Who are these, Jibreel?'He replied, 'These are the ones who consume the flesh of people and attack their honor.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لما عرج بي مررت بقوم لهم أظفار من نحاس يخمشون وجوههم وصدورهم، فقلت: فقلت: من هؤلاء يا جبريل؟ قال: هؤلاء الذين يأكلون لحوم الناس، ويقعون في أعراضهم.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (4878), Ahmad (13340), and Bayhaqi in al-Adab (138), all from the hadith of Abu Mughira, who said, Safwan narrated to us, saying, Rashid bin Saad and Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr narrated to me, from Anas bin Malik, who said, so he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Mughira is Abdullah bin Hajjaj Khawlani Himsi, one of the narrators found in all six major collections.
