Some qabas (short outer garments) were brought to the Prophet ﷺ, so my father Makhramah said to me, "Come with me to him. Perhaps he will give us something from them."My father stood at the door and spoke. The Prophet ﷺ recognized his voice and came out carrying a qaba, showing him its fine features, saying, "I set this aside for you. I set this aside for you."In another wording, when some qabas of brocade with gold buttons were gifted to the Prophet ﷺ, he distributed them among some of his companions and set one aside for Makhramah. When Makhramah came, he said, "I set this aside for you."Ayub said, He showed it to him with his garment, and there was something in Makhramah's temperament.
