Ayesha reported,

Ayesha reported that a man asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "Let him in. What a wretched member of the tribe he is," or "what a wretched brother of the tribe."But when the man entered, the Prophet ﷺ spoke gently to him.I said to him, "Messenger of Allah, you said what you said, then you spoke gently to him?"He replied, "Ayesha, the worst of people in standing before Allah is the one whom people avoid, or abandon, to be safe from his vulgarity."
