Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped by a group of people who were sitting and asked, "Shall I tell you who among you is the best and who is the worst?"They remained silent. He repeated this three times. Then a man said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah, tell us who among us is the best and who is the worst."He said, "The best of you is the one whose goodness is hoped for and whose harm is safeguarded against, and the worst of you is the one whose goodness is not hoped for and whose harm is not safeguarded against."
