Uqba bin Amir said, I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said to me, "Uqba bin Amir, maintain ties with the one who cuts you off, give to the one who deprives you, and pardon the one who wrongs you."Then I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again, and he said to me, "Uqba bin Amir, control your tongue, weep over your sins, and let your home be enough for you."
لقيت رسول الله ﷺ، فقال لي: يا عقبة بن عامر صل من قطعك، وأعط من حرمك، واعف عمن ظلمك، قال: ثم أتيت رسول الله ﷺ الله فقال لي: يا عقبة بن عامر أملك لسانك، وابك على خطيئتك، وليسعك بيتك.
Ahmad (17452) narrated it from Husayn bin Muhammad, who said, Ibn Ayyash told us, from Usayd bin Abdul-Rahman Khathami, from Farwa bin Mujahid Lakhmi, from Uqba bin Amir, who said, and then mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Ayyash, whose name is Ismail, for he is truthful (saduq) in his narration from the people of Syria, and this narration is from that category.
