The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whoever abandons argumentation even when he is in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for whoever abandons lying even in jest, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for whoever perfects his character."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أنا زعيم ببيت في ربض الجنة لمن ترك المراء وإن كان محقا، وببيت في وسط الجنة لمن ترك الكذب وإن كان مازحا، وببيت في أعلى الجنة لمن حسن خلقه.
Abu Dawud (4800) narrated it from Muhammad bin Uthman Dimashqi, Abu Jamahir, who said, Ayub bin Muhammad Saadi, known as Abu Kaab, narrated to us, who said, Sulayman bin Habib Muharibi narrated to me, from Abu Umama, who said, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Ayub bin Muhammad Saadi, for he is hasan al-hadith.His saying, "I guarantee," means I am a surety and guarantor. His saying, "the outskirts of Paradise," means in the surroundings and edges of Paradise.
