Abdullah bin Shikhir reported,

I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was reciting "Competition for more distracts you" [Takathur 102:1]. He said, "The son of Adam says, 'My wealth, my wealth.' But son of Adam, do you have from your wealth anything except what you ate and used up, or wore and wore out, or gave in charity and sent ahead?"
