The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ubayy bin Kaab, "Allah has commanded me to recite to you, 'Those who disbelieved...' [Bayyinah 98:1]."Ubayy asked, "Did He mention me to you by name?"He replied, "Yes."So Ubayy wept.
قال رسول الله ﷺ لأبي بن كعب: إن الله أمرني أن أقرأ عليك: {لم يكن الذين كفروا} قال: وسماني لك؟ قال: نعم، قال: فبكى.
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4959) and Muslim in the prayer of travelers (799:246), both from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us, who said, Shuba narrated to us, who said, I heard Qatada narrating from Anas, who said, and he mentioned it. The wording is Muslim's.
