Muaz led the maghrib prayer and recited Surah al-Baqarah and Surah an-Nisa. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you trying to drive people away, Muaz? Would it not have sufficed you to recite 'By the sky and the night visitor' [Tariq 86:1] and 'By the sun and its brightness' [Shams 91:1]?"
صلى معاذ المغرب، فقرأ البقرة والنساء، فقال النبي ﷺ: أفتان يا معاذ؟ ما كان يكفيك أن تقرأ ب {والسماء والطارق} و {والشمس وضحها}.

Nasai reported it in Al-Kubra (11600), from Amr bin Mansur, who said, Abu Naeem narrated to us, from Masaar, from Muharib bin Dithar, from Jabir, who said, then he related it. Its isnad is sahih.Bukhari reported it in the Book of Adhan (705), from Adam bin Abu Iyas, who said, Shubah narrated to us, who said, Muharib bin Dithar narrated to us with this chain, and he related it in a long hadith, in which it is stated, "Why did you not pray with it, "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High", "By the sun and its brightness", "By the night when it covers"..." the hadith.He did not mention "By the heaven and the night star". Rather, Masaar alone related it from Muharib bin Dithar, from Jabir, according to Nasai. Masaar is Ibn Kidam bin Zuhayr Hilali, and he is a reliable and firmly established narrator, so his addition is accepted.
