I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "On the Day of Resurrection, the sun will be brought so close to creation that it will be only a mile away from them."Salim bin Amir said, "By Allah, I do not know what is meant by 'mile' here, whether it is the measure of distance on the earth or the small rod used to apply kohl to the eye."He continued, "People will then stand in their sweat according to their deeds. Some will have sweat reaching their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their waists, and some will be bridled by their sweat completely."The narrator added that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured with his hand toward his mouth.
Muslim narrated it in "Paradise and the description of its bliss and its people" (2864), from Hakam bin Musa Abu Salih, who said, Yahya bin Hamza narrated to us, from Abdul-Rahman bin Jabir, who said, Salim bin Amir narrated to me, who said, Miqdad bin Aswad narrated to me, saying, then he mentioned it.
